With Elantra GT, Hyundai turns up the heat on the hot hatchback genre. At our European Design Centre, a sensuous shape was formed with details like a cascading grille and satin chrome window-line trim. Using Germany’s famed Nürburgring racetrack, Hyundai engineers brought that shape to life – creating a performance car that’s inherently quick and agile. Perfect for taming congested city streets or twisty mountain roads.
For 2020, we’ve taken things to the Nth degree with the Elantra GT N Line. Designed and engineered for driving enthusiasts, its upgrades include a 201-hp 1.6L Turbo engine, stiffer springs, larder front disc brakes and a multi-link rear suspension. Sporty design cues include LED headlights and taillights, a deeper front bumper with larger intakes, a rear diffuser with dual exhaust outlets and 18” N Design alloy wheels.
Inside, the N Line is a driver’s dream. You’ll find a leather-wrapped steering wheel, leather sport seats with red contrast stitching, a floating 8” touchscreen audio display and available luxuries like class-exclusive ventilated front seats, Smart Cruise Control with Stop & Go1 lane Keeping Assist2 and wireless device charging3.
Yet there’s more here than a hot hatch that turns up the heat. Elantra GT turns up the volume, too. Open the hatch, fold down the rear seats, and you’ve got easy-loading room that rivals compact SUVs for cargo space. Together with an available panoramic sunroof that fills all of that space with fresh air and sunlight, it’s a modern GT design that shines everywhere from the fast lane to the concert venue and campsite.
